FOUNDATION
June 2020
In the DeFi summer of 2020, JD Gagnon, Hannu Kuusi, and Alexander Szul meet as independent consultants at Dextools. Realizing their shared vision for a better world, and believing it could be reached via DeFi, they form Rome Blockchain Labs, setting the stage for a series of innovative projects.
VELOX
January 2021
Taking note of the unrealized promise of an algorithmic trading bot from Dextools, RBL's founding trio brought in their fourth founder Eino Mäkitalo to launch Velox, aiming to empower traders with automated strategies to navigate the volatile crypto markets with ease.
OPULENTIA
July 2021
Opulentia set the scene for BENQI by launching just a month earlier, signaling the rapid expansion of the Avalanche blockchain ecosystem. It aimed to enrich the DeFi landscape with innovative financial solutions.
BENQI
August 2021
RBL founders partner with AVAX enthusiasts to launch BENQI on the Avalanche network. This marks the first lending platform on AVAX, allowing users to earn passive yield and borrow against their assets.
KUU
September 2021
Kuu launches as a keeper service, enhancing the DeFi ecosystem's efficiency by enabling users to optimize their yield farming strategies. Its integration with major NFT artists also highlights the growing trend between DeFi and NFTs.
ROME TERMINAL
October 2021
Rome Terminal was a streamlined DeFi dashboard that aggregates user portfolios across multiple networks. Designed to combat scams and simplify trading, it offers a centralized platform for managing DeFi investments.
MOONWELL
January 2022
Next, RBL and its partners are approached to expand opportunities on Polkadot. Moonwell is launched to provide an open lending and borrowing protocol on the Moonbeam and Moonriver ecosystems.
BENQI LIQUID STAKING
February 2022
Right before AVAX Barcelona, BENQI Liquid Staking goes live, offering users a seamless way to stake their assets and participate in securing the network while maintaining liquidity - a significant leap forward for stakers everywhere.
TASHI
September 2023
Tashi emerges as a money market on EVMOS, designed to breathe new life into the chain with attractive incentives. RBL's involvement in building the backend showcases our commitment to supporting and revitalizing blockchain ecosystems.
HOVER
February 2024
Hover introduces a money market on Kava, focusing on rewarding stakers with use-based . This move by RBL to build the backend infrastructure highlights ongoing efforts to explore new chains and expand the DeFi landscape.
SCEPTRE
June 2024
Sceptre unlocked the full potential of network assets through liquid staking. Initially launched on Flare, it provided a liquid staking token for users to earn extra rewards across multiple protocols on the network.
KINETIC
